I chose Xinjiang for the May Day holiday in 2024. This city is not unfamiliar to me, after all, it is close to home, and the food culture and lifestyle are also very similar. I have been to Xinjiang twice before, once in Northern Xinjiang and once I don't remember, and I have been longing for it ever since. This article mainly shares the scenery along the way.

Some notes#
- Time difference: Xinjiang is 2 hours behind most cities in mainland China. Local breakfast is around 9:00, lunch at 14:00, and dinner at 20:00. Usually, it is still bright around 21:30 at night.
- Temperature: The average temperature in Xinjiang is lower than that in mainland China before May 15th, and there is a large temperature difference between day and night. Some places still have snow.
- Climate: Xinjiang has a dry and windy climate. If you stay in the south for a long time, your mouth may become dry and your throat may feel sore.
- Culture: Xinjiang is a place where ethnic minorities live. During the trip, it is important to respect the local customs and habits.
Yining#

The first thing to do in Xinjiang is definitely to have lamb skewers and lamb kidneys, which are very delicious.
Sayram Lake#
The grass is not yet green, and it is very cold due to the strong wind, but the scenery is still beautiful.

Qiongkushitai#
It was cloudy and gloomy, but the grass had already started to turn green.
In the morning, when I opened the door of the homestay, there were cows and sheep everywhere.
Wusun Ancient Road, one of the three major ancient roads in Xinjiang. The entrance was blocked by fallen trees, but after climbing over, it suddenly opened up.
Cows can be seen everywhere on the road.
Qiaxi#
The grassland has turned completely green.
Kuerdening#
It is right next to Qiaxi, the scenery is similar, but it has its own unique flavor.
About food#
